These are the rocket racks I'm making Nigel
Great design; really like that it appears they can be angled & stack neatly. Have you loaded up with giant rockets for stability and have any video? Looks like I needed not fumble in the garage trying to make something and rather just get my cheque book out.
They look brilliant F1!
Do you know I reckon there's some kind of psychic pyro connection osmosing through the forum. Like when Neo in the matrix no longer has to be plugged-in to feel the machines. I couldn't sleep last night and started designing new cake racks in my mind, then first thing I find on the forum today is rack related and posted about the same time.
No. Lol. Coincidence.
I'm not about to go all Sarah Greene and Derek Acorah on you. Because I've never even heard of them. Weirdos.
I've just realised it must look funny if someone says "...Simon Weir does...".
Yeah... those Simon Weirdos!
Lol. I've gone of topic.
Very nice indeed
you can see these on saturday, i will be bringing 4 up to turvers towers so you can all have a play with them. with regards to stability, i can say i tried a worse case senario in a field i shoot over.... so i drilled a king rocket in to the tube so it couldnt lift.... rack held up perfect didnt move the rack and it didnt fal over with the blast its took alot of money and effort to perfect the rack, as you can see.
so the features are,
.5 different angle settings to compensate for wind drift, 2 simple wing nuts will adjust the angle in less than 30 seconds
.wide A frame legs to reduce falling over risk to zero, and to allow people who have a patio or concrete garden to still light rockets safely
.flat pack design easy to store away for the following years to come, erects in 2 minutes with 4 simple bolts and 2 washers and wing
.replaceable tubes can be bought separate for when they burn out
just realized you cant open the other pic
F1, are you taking orders directly, or are we buying through Nigel next year ... I forget how the conversation went on Saturday.
well ill leave that up to @Galactic Nigel to decide i will be selling them thru my self but nigel will have about 30 in stock if i can get them to him in time around the 27th december
it does seem as tho nigel will be taking racks of me though so yes i guess it will be from nigel
For 1 or 2 racks I'd suggest that route, but I suspect geeks will be looking for a few, or possibly more tubes per rack?
Hope you don't mind me suggesting you set the ground rules early for bulk/custom orders?
Maybe it won't be worth the hassle of dealing direct anyway, I imagine delivery costs will be the least of your worries after my experience dealing with just a few window-lickers on ebay!
To be clear, I still have my suspicions about the man, but I do not think that @Simon Weir is an actual window-licker.
right so to be clear and straight with you all, i will be selling these direct but wont be for a few months untill i have a new work shop and stuff set up.... but to be honest it really would work out cheaper for you all to get these from nigel, simply because they will cost around £15 to post, you will be getting them for roughly £25 cheaper thru nigel as you wont be paying the postage and i think he was talking about doing them abit cheaper to forum members
i too would do them cheaper for forum members but you will still end up loosing out on p&p.
so basicly if your after these wicked racks get ya orders in to MR.T that way he will buy more of me which suits me perfect
oh and to clear the pricing up, this is how its going to go...
1-19 racks £30 each trade
20-149 racks £25 each trade
150+ racks £POA trade
i will be selling these for £49.99 each rack
or 5 racks for £200
i cant remember if @Galactic Nigel will be doing the same but im sure he will be along soon to confirm his pricing of these
we will be delivering these but if ordering less than 50 racks we will be charging for delivery
Hey Up F1 and all
I will be selling the rocket racks for £39.99 to forum members. I think that's fair enough
You will see them on the web site too but at £49.99 or maybe £59.99 with free delivery (not sure which route to take?)
Like the sound of that,
Well finally got round to putting the racks up for sale. £39.99 to forum members of course.
Just bought 4 x rocket rackets, to secure my F1 & Ginge-Pyro original design racks ... I expect these will sell out fast at this forum price. GN, I will come across to the house one weekend in January to collect and no doubt be tempted by other stuff in the containers!
Yeah that's my problem, I'd like to buy a rack but with at least 20 tubes, possibly more. Guess I'll get my none existent builders hat on in the new year and attempt to build my own. Should be interesting!
HarryB, I seriously considered building my own but without all the tools and the know how of Brocade Knight (bk) or F1, decided to buy these and will look to customise, by replacing with longer tubes for giant rockets and adding a temporary second layer using the original tubes for smaller rockets ... As a base design and the ability to flat pack, I know whatever my racks will end up as they will be better with a stronger starting point.
Yeah, I think I'd have more luck asking for £5/10 off if I bought two, rather than trying to build anything myself.
You don't have to be gayaf to be crap at DIY! :daf:
New design for this year cost me less to make so come on everyone make Nigel sell out so he can have some more of my racks LOL
F1, as an owner of 4 of your original design, what's the difference with the 2016 stock? Is it that the sides are no longer plywood? Should I be buying this year's design also?
bugger all difference hes just making it up I tell ya
Speaking as something of an expert on short legs, I'd say the new ones only go halfway up the frame.
Short legs but big heart ... great spot re the frame changes, you are the pyro guru Jinn Kyja (jk), I bow to your greatness.
Lol you guys crack me up .. yep simple really shorter legs but over all same height, more stability as the legs are slightly wider, suitable for any rocket on the uk market like wise to the old stock
Asking for a friend: *cough*
Would there be any way possible to get a couple of replacement tubes for an older model?
I have tubes that size (? Supernovas/Specials) but they are white or red, and will look daft.
Last night I went to fire a hawk and it had no fuse. "No problem," I thought, "I'll jut angle the rothy straight up the hole"
This didn't work.
First the hawk casing took...now, I didn't bother thinking, I just pulled the hawk out and twirled it round my head to extinguish the casing.
It worked, but in the process the stick snapped, the bulk of it flew off with the head, and then it snapped again when it hit the ground.
Now, with time to think, that probably wasn't the smartest move.
For future reference, twirling a flaming rocket is not recommended.
Then I turn back to the rack and a tube is on fire, leather gloves to the rescue!
I really am very sorry, @Kaboom2701 and @booster, both for burning your rack and for the unsafe disposal of the hawk.
If a black tube turns up I'll get it to you pre-loaded to try and make it up to you!
Jinn Kyja (jk), I have a few from proper plumbing stock already cut to 1m lengths not freebie orange tubes that I can leave with galactic nigel the most famous man in pyroland (gal) the next time I am at the farm or send me your address and I will post to you.
Thank you @Simon Weir, I didn't even realise it was plumbing pipe (overflow?), I thought there was a secret brand of rockets with black launch tubes, lol.
Lack of coffee is my only excuse, lol. Being dumb didn't help.
I love this forum
Hi jinn we like the customised look don't worry..... I think it could catch on.... maybe had been better if you had stuck the Rothy on me and twirled me around your head instead it would certainly have taken my mind off my back.....
Love the fact you are so concerned about our tube and keeping the designer look in tact..... had a fab night and really enjoyed the demonstration of the firework code, i never knew that h&s could be so enjoyable xxx
