    I have acquired an old school Men Shun Fabulous Rocket Pack today(hidden away in someones house and unused from a bommynite many moons ago) and wondered what the performance of these rockets are like. Does anyone know? As its old school pre 2008 I would at the very very least expect nothing more than reasonable performance;)

    2008 is the year the old Menshun branded products were watered down and became weak - imo Menshun was one of the brands back then, where performance of products was effected the most by the reg changes.
    Before 2008 they'll be pre-reg and should be really good, used a lot of pre-reg Menshun rockets and was never disappointed.

    LOL... at the very very least you'll expect nothing more than a reasonable performance.

    That sounds like a hilariously slim and specific bracket of expectation for something as vague as 'reasonable'! LOL

    It seems from members' initial comments (and quite positive ones at that) that these rockets are quite decent performers in action and are worth letting off, thank you all for the feedback:) now, decisions decisions! it just remains for me to pick a time to let these rip this year:)

    Nice find there Sir Anthony :sparkler:. The old Menshun Fabulous were part no. 38080 in the 2003 to 2005 catalogues, yours are marked up as 38738, odd. I think you had better "test" one... :confused:mokin:

    Good idea Si, i'll test fire one early aug (one of the small red peony rockets in the pack), and i'll do a vid of it and watch it, to see how it performs;) As its pre 2008, and although it's a different art.no, it should still be reasonably loud reportwise and with the same good colour starburst performance too. :)

    I think, that these were sold, before the regs and before the whole rocket range totally changed to watered down rubbish in 2008.

    There was a (very last chance) for retailers to get hold of it, and all the others from the previous Men Shun rocket pack range, in their final unchanged form in the 2007 Men Shun brochure before it, and all the other pre-reg rockets, were quickly withdrawn as a result of the 2008 changes, and all the old rockets were rapidly replaced in the Men Shun 2008 brochure/productlines by the brand new, and rather crap at that, Men Shun rocket pack range. ;)

    Thought ai must have missed a page when I read Sir Anthony :sparkler:'s thanks for all the positive comments from members. I found one at that point who'd expressed any view!

    What I DO like is a rocket where they take the trouble to tell you what each effect is. Suspect these'll be perfectly pleasant little garden rockets. Nothing more.

    Fyi the effects are;
    red peony
    green peony
    purple peony
    golden peony
    white glittering peony
    crackling stars peony
    and all with a sharp bang at the peak of flight! :)
