    Hi Everyone,

I hope you are all well. My name is Chris and I live just outside of Liverpool. Although I've always loved fireworks I'm fairly new to doing my own displays. I only really do displays on New Year's Eve as I host a party with my friends and family every year.

I've used Galactic for the past two years and have been very impressed with their service and the quality of the fireworks, therefore I am going to use them again this year!

In 2012 my display consisted of:

    1. Krazy Klock
    2. Cube Fireworks Top Gun
    3. Cosmic NG Nightbugs set of 3
    4. 4 King Marvelous rocket set
    5. Royal Party Fireworks Diamonds
    6. Mars Pyrotechnics Boneshaker
    7. Cosmic NG Extravanza
    8. Cosmic NG Emperors Wrath

In 2013 my display consisted of:

    1. ABSOLUTE FIREWORKS Superior Rocket Box

    2. BROTHERS PYROTECHNICS 4 King Marvellous x2

    3. ROYAL PARTY FIREWORKS RP-900

    4. MARS PYROTECHNICS Bone Shaker x2

    5. ROYAL PARTY FIREWORKS Diamonds 70 Shot

    6. ROYAL PARTY FIREWORKS RP60 Fancake

    7. FIREWORKS INTERNATIONAL Pandoras Box

This year I was thinking something like:

    1 X Collateral Damage
    1 x Explosive Box 3
1 x Peacock in Season or RP60 or Explosive Box 2 (which one would people recommend?)
    1 x Diamonds
    2 x Boneshaker
1 x Terminator or Maximum Showtime (which one would you recommend or do you think both and drop another product?)
    1 x Rocket Volley
    1 x Superior Rocket Box
    2 x King Marvellous

Any advise would be greatly appreciated.

    Thanks Guys!

    Chris.

Hi Chris & welcome to the forum.
Some great displays you have had in previous years! :)

I would drop the collateral damage, they changed it last year and i wasn't too keen on what they had done to it.
Instead of Terminator or Max Show, i would pick up 2 x Barbarian, its a fantastic cake with a great firing pattern that keeps you interested.
I'm not a fan of the rocket volleys, so i would replace that with a couple of packs of War Hawks.
As for Peacock in season/RP60/Explosive box 2.... tough one, but i would have the Explosive box 2.
Maybe replace the collateral damage with a Zero 2 Sixty? quite a bit more expensive, but sooo much better!

    Hi Chris

Welcome to the forum. I canot say enough to not replace anything with the Mars Godfater set, yes the Brothers Godfather set a different proposal but the Mars one last year caused us nothing but trouble with missifires etc, I really dont know why people go mad for this set apart from the fact part 3 has some titanium reports in it, £75 a cake you can buy much better gear at this price point. Three fireworks as well that all straight fire ? again I cannot see what the fuss is about this set ? Barbarian, Explosive Box 4 and a Boneshaker are 3 cakes that will cost less and give a better all round show.

I will be filming the Brothers Thunderking, Fireworks Crazy and God Father set on Saturday night, wait and see what these are like as I have to say some of the new gear from Brothers so far is truly brillinat. We did Lavish and Diamond Princess last Saturday and they where amazing for the price.

And I think you need a few smaller pieces in your display to get things going, everything you have is BIG :) LOL

    Hi All,

Many thanks for the warm welcome, I appreciate it!

Also thanks for all the advise guys, being quite amateur at this it would seem I have maybe always gone for big fireworks. I think that is due to a combination of me not really knowing enough about each firework so choosing the bigger ones expecting better quality from them, the fact that they usually last longer so I can stand back and watch them as well as the audience without needing to be constantly lighting the next firework, and that I do seem to have a penchant for 'going big or going home' or an 'all or nothing' attitude, it's one of my weaknesses in certain cases :-/

Thanks for the advise on the Explosive Box 2 guys, I shall most likely go with that one and I also think you are right regarding the Zero to Zixty Pyro Daddy, that does look fantastic for the price.

I have a budget of around £800ish, Nigel and all what would you recommend I should do with that? I don't mind completely changing my selection as you guys have a much superior knowledge when it comes to these fireworks, I have only seen the videos and the fireworks that I've actually used myself. I was however thinking of finishing off with firing the 8 king rockets and 4 Superior rockets simultaneously as part of my finale, but again I am completely open to new ideas and substitute selections?

Once again I appreciate any advise and the current help you have given me guys!

    Thanks,

    Chris.

What do you class as local Chris? I mean that in a non patronising way ha.
  10. Chris_S

    Chris_S Galactic Firework Addict

I live on the Wirral Chris. Local I suppose is the north west as there's not many of us over here.

Personally I wouldn't mix the superior and kings. I would also go for the revolvers instead but that's just me.

If you look at the top of the forum there is a shoutbox which is basically a chatroom that you can talk in also :)

Welcome along Chris, is this another new year party or are you going for Bonfire night party, the reason that I ask is that I think for new years you really want to make a statement and keep it as short and intense as possible, but for Bonfire night, you want to build it up for your audience more gradually. Just my opinion but with a budget of £800ish, you will get an awesome display.

Oh right, very close in deed then Chris, I wasn't sure if you just meant because I was from the UK ha! Are you a red a blue or neither?

Would you for 12 revolvers or mix them with the Kings?

    I see it, thanks Chris.

Hi Pyropimp, thanks for the welcome! I think I am just going to save my money so I can do a great New Years display! I agree with you regarding a short and intense display, which is another reason I usually go for the bigger fireworks. But Like I say, I know little so any advise is greatly accepted!

    Right Guys,

I've watched everything and I was thinking something like this:

1 x Sapphire Crowns as a big intro leading straight into:

    1 x Terminator

    Then:

    1 x Boost

    followed by:

    2 x Barbarians

Leading into a simultaneous firing finale of:

    1 x Diamonds
    2 x Bone Shaker

Fired at the same time and then:

    A simultaneous firing of:

1 X Zero to Sixty and 15 x King Rockets connected by quick match as the above finish.

Any suggestions and improve are absolutely welcome!

    Thanks guys,

    Chris.

    Nice choices :)

My opinion, lose the Boost and replace with an Explosive box 1,2,3 or 4!
  22. Chris Dono

Chris Dono New Member of the Galactic Forum

Thanks Pyro Daddy, if you had to replace the boost which one would you choose? ;-)

I was also considering the Explosive Box 3 over The Terminator, what do you reckon?

    Thanks!

I really think quickmatching would be a waste on those, use quick visco instead or just run your rothy down them

Explosive box 2 is the most similar to boost, cheaper and better in my opinion!

The more i watch the Terminator the more i like it. But i like lots of different effects.
  26. Pyro Daddy

    Pyro Daddy Guest

good point, quick match easily blows off the fuses and you get left with a load of rockets not firing.

Thanks for the input guys. I used fast visco on my Kings last year and there was just slightly more of a delay with them setting off than what I wanted, maybe I just need to space them closer together as after watching the Quickmatch I see what you mean about the fuses getting blown off!
  28. Chris_S

    Chris_S Galactic Firework Addict

If you used fast visco and it was only slightly too slow then simply light it at both ends.
