Are Cosmic as good today as they were in their previous guise up at Burton-Upon-Trent, Staffordshire or overpriced and past it?

In my brief pyro experience to date, I would say Comsic are an improving brand. Unless of course the only good Cosmic stuff flying around is old stock!

But they have a new website, and some new lines I believe, so they seem to be trying to make a fresh start. Not that these things necessarily result in improved fireworks of course!

Something I read somewhere else however might be, and it was either on this forum or UKFR. It was about Chinese manufacturers getting a better understanding of the fireworks manufacturing regulations in the UK, as well being able to more precisely measure the specific amounts of ingredients that go into each firework.

And that, if true, is something that will benefit all pyro importers!

It could also be a load of bullsh1t...

There wasn't an option for "does Anthony take far too long to ask the simplest of questions?"

Not had much experience with the new Cosmic stuff. The older gear was great. I think the same could be asked about a lot of pyro companies, but the opinions are skewed by the regs changes.

Well for me the truthfull answer is not seen anything new from cosmic :(

I have been told they have tried to copy all the old NG items but they are not as good but again I cant say as Ive not seen it :(

Im sure as time goes on and I am looking for some Cosmic gear trying the new range will be something we here at Galactic will have to do :)

So Ive not voted as simply dont know :(

I liked the multiple brands strategy of the original Cosmic Group;each had a different individuality and offered different effects in each brands' lines with new, interesting (and rather exciting) innovations/concepts and weird novelty firework items brought out every year!

If I was to pick a brand in the group that stood out then for me it would be the Golden Lion range with hilarious sounding daft names but they always made up for it with quality effects and superb effect delivery/performance in every one, well worth it:);):);):confused:pin::confused:pin::confused:pin:

My impression was that cosmic effectively ceased to exist about a decade ago! Nevermind technically going out of business and being reborn a few years ago. The only physical outlet I saw cosmic at was the largest shop nearest to Birmingham city cetre. They stocked loads of Cosmic/Golden Lion/Astra ten years ago, and when I got back into doing my own displays after an unexplained break of 6/7years, they seemed to have residual amounts of the same cakes from 2003. Either stock kept coming, or I could equally believe it was big cakes that took time to sell. Like Peacock in Season.
I absolutley loved the quality and value for money of Cosmic/Golden Lion.
But as for their very expensive largest NG cakes... If someone wants to spend £130 and get a maximum ease, a high quality display of varied effects that lasts 90s or whatever, then I can see their place. But most people with any interest in fireworks, prepared to spend moeny, can achieve much more from, say, 4 £30-50 cakes.

    cosmic.

some of the new cosmic items look reasonable, but like Sir Anthony :sparkler: pointed out in a earlier post, it is over inflated in price for sure:confused:ad:

but a lot of it looks pretty much the same, same colours, effects, the new gear lacks imagination, definitely behind on the cosmic of old:eek:ldman:

like some pyromaniacs may like a curtain few repetitive cakes within there display, but not the whole range:facepalm:

The old gear was great, but suffered with reg changes, and the rise in cost of fireworks over recent years.
