He shoots he scores! I've found another total bargain!
I'm so chuffed with myself this year, it can only mean rain for November.

I almost bought 3x 3m Antennae for my Cobra system to give me a boost of signal, and in turn, confidence. But they may have been pretty unnecessary full stop. They'd have cost £54 for probably a few quid's worth of cable. At the last moment I remembered I wanted to get the actual modules off the ground, to save my back when wiring the 54 cues I'll be using this year!

Cue £2 a pop folding storage crates from Wilko! They take seconds to go from flat to expanded. Three stacked upside down will make a great platform to set-up on. I've got ideas of how to better secure them together than purely free stacked, and how to prevent them blowing over. But as they're so open I doubt they have much air resistance. And at £20 for 10 I even have a spare!

    Bargain!

The third stack is for a third firing module coming, not as a 'concierge table' for my remote! LOL, Although at this price, I could have one! LOL.

Blooper Reel.... I nearly missed them in Wilko. I found the kids' pink and blue versions at 50p more each, then hunted around the store to find these. I saw one slightly damaged one on a shelf and thought... sods law... one and it's broken. Something made my take one last look back down the aisle as I went to leave, and spotted at least 40 of them, in 4 piles, literally touching the one I spotted. Somehow I just didn't recognise them stacked up! Tit!

I don't mean to dismiss your creative endevours as having the boxes at a good working height is a bonus in it's own right. and you have a handy container to collect the scraps afterwards.

Aerials are pretty generic and I don't believe there is anything special about the expensive version your are quoting (Seems very high as Cobra USA sell them for $10). Any SMA aerial extension should do the trick.. For example here on Ebay :)

In fact, there is a 3M cable listed there for £1.32, and if you buy 2 you get 5% off the 3rd!

Cheers for that. Yes like I say I assumed it need only cost a few quid. But having tested the modules in a field at 100m+ on a stack of 3 of those crates, my signal quality increased immensely. So that's killed two birds with one stone. :)
