Cake Racks Help

    hi all



    im starting to think about make my first cake racks could do with some ideas I would like to make something I could use year after year iv look at some of your builds etc

    what sort of size should I leave per cake ? ect

    Depends on what sort of stuff you fire and if you fire in multiples and with angles, tbh for cakes i tend to just use boards with diferent sized latts attached to give different angles, most of my boards are 300x300mm which fit most cakes but i have some bigger ones too.
    Here is an example of what i use, mine are screwed to some big 13x4' panels but they work fine on the ground too as long as you stake and tape.

    this year im am going to be my first time fireing in multiples and I would like to add some angels to make it more interesting

    I will work on some thing with 300x300mm

    iv notices you remove the paper on the top of the cake to help clean up , wean using rakes is there a chance of cross lighting , iv seen some photos with foil on do you think is wealth it

    Only had cross ignition on 1 cake in the past 4 years so i would say the chances are minimal, foil would work but then you are adding back some of the mess you have removed with taking the tops off, i suppose if you was that bothered about it then just leaving the tops on would be easier and tbh most of the mess is still there anyway in the form of millions of cardboard disks lol.

    thanks Kony I know what you mean looking forward clearing all these cardboard disks up lol , im not going to bother with the foil I don't think
