Well it turned out to be a pretty decent night for all attending the Brothers firing night and for me that was mainly due to the fact the Buffet was excellent :) oh and coming home at 1am in the morning and being able to get a couple of Big Macs is basically heaven.

As for the fireworks there where some I thought where as good as they have always have like the Starring, Guinevere & Siren Call etc and there where a couple I didnt think where quite as good in fact pretty average like the Forbiddedn & Thunderstorm.

Anyway we where there to look at the new stuff and the first item that caught our eye was the Ariel Celebration (appx £30) I will try and put a video up if Ive managed to film it but I'm not sure?. Then not a new one but once the Magical Palms was fired you really could see we where now in a different league for fireworks! WOW what a great cake and should be every decent display in the uk. The next new ones where the Power Stations that got a bit of a mixed response, both where great but are they a little too expensive compared to what they have to beat ? Also the Neutron bomb (supposedly a big Magical Palms)was excellent but was it as good as 2 x Magical Palms ? I personaly loved it but decided not too sure. The OMG was good but once again putting that on my shelf and asking £89.99 after its been discounted £20 would be kind of embarassing so great cake but just too expensive :(

I will quicky say all the Brothers rockets are of the highest quality money can buy but the Kingdom Rocket box once again cemented itself in there as the best value and quality box of rockets available in the uk !

I should say every big cake really has to be measured against the almighty Hercules as once again this firework wowed the lot of us. I have now seen this firework fired maybe 40+ times and it never ever fails to blow your socks off!

Any what have I forgotten to mention ? mmmm let me think :) I know the Real Steal !!!!! Its was without a doubt the most spectacular firework of the evening! This cake was like a new Hercules 2 firing the first half in a timely fashion then suddenly just like the Hercules does kicking and leaving you god smacked! I can honestly say the mighty Hercules has a contender for its throne as the ultimate firework ! Yes after the event not just team Galactic but everyone else attending had the same opinion about the Real Steel ! I suggest buy one as soon as you can as this will be the first firework to sell out in 2012 !!! and can I add ts 1.4g non pyromeshed !

On a quick final note it was great to see and chat to other fellow retailers. These being John, Stuart, Mark, Raj, Dave P, David & Sally. But Its now a fight for them Real Steels :)

Here is the video from last night of the Real Steel

Bids being considered for an Ariel Celebration and the also excellent Rip and Roaring pair that walked out the door with me. You can take the boy out of Essex ............

Great company, great pyro, great night.
Thanks to Brothers for putting on a great show and Galactic crew for inviting me down.

P.S. I think Nigel means Nuclear Demolition when he says 'Neutron Bomb'.

The Nuclear Demolition certainly is food for thought, for the price it an especially big piece (burst size and noise).

And there were disappointments lower down the range, but all was forgiven when Real Steel came along. How can it be louder than the pyro-meshed stuff? The bursts were monumental, but the video for it is naff compared to the actual firework.

Nice to talk to a few members of team Galactic and DanThe(camera)Man.

I thoroughly enjoyed the majority of the fireworks fired, but i was extremely impressed with the King Dom Pack, just cant beat the value to be honest, think i prefer them to the King, price differences considered of course!

Food was better this time too ;)

Loved the new Siren Call! Was extremely loud for the size and price of the cake!

-Was great to see the forum guys again, didn't think much to Philco though ;) haha!

The question on everyone's lips "how much is Real Steel likely to be?"

Well if you were a pastry lover (me) then the buffet was below average sausage rolls were shocking but the chicken wraps, indian potatoey things and brad was lovely so on a whole decent buffet, Real Steel was also absolutely awsome and just about every rocket they set, very decent night.

I like your review off the evening, purely based on the food :p

Oh and the chips/juice were also good, in fairness Hinckley put on a decent spread, barmaid was also very bangable and had great boobies :bed: ;)

Disagree, I thought all the food was lovely. But agree with the bangable barmaid.
Just hope it was not an organisers/retailers daughter helping out (or anyone likely to see this review :))

To be fair to Jackie he said "bangable" not "I banged the barmaid". I would say her fathers honour is intact!

Well done Jackie for restraining yourself! :jackinbox:

For those of you that could not attend the Brother's Demonstration Event. Magical Palms, Neuclear Demolition, and Real Steel should be on your things to do list............Also Aerial Celebration not a bad small cake.

The video of Real Steel is good. But believe me you had to be there in the flesh to see how good this Firework is.... It's a Hercules beater in my opinion.... !!

    My highlights of the night:

Screeching Skyrider - Incredibly loud and large bursts, especially if the cake is only the same size as the spinmaster.

Ultimate Battle of Colours - Very nice little cake again and as name suggests very pretty colours but still with decent sized bursts.

Ariel celebration - Very dense sky filling bursts to this 1, quite unusual i thought and great little finale too.

Rip & Roaring - Nice rapid firing reasonably small cakes 50 shots in less than 30 seconds. These were fired together and i think i would fire them together, worked well.

Big Bang Theory - These little beuties took me by surprise, a lot better than i expected.

Nuclear Demolition - I actually missed this having a tinkle, but watching the video back.... people say its supposed to be equivalent of 2 x Magical Palms (which was excellent on its own by the way) I would easily prefer 2 magical palms. From what i can see, there isn't actually that much of the palm effect in Nuclear Demolition???

Real Steel - This almost made me do a sex wee. It really is that good, just buy it.

Usual suspects that were as always very good: Guinevere, Starring, Magical Palms, King Rocket & King Dom Pack.

A little to add to this:

I felt Exploding Cherries was better than Starring, I loved the white glitter tail.

Screeching Skyrider was a good addition to the range but Tivoli IMO is slightly louder and has better effects, so it's worth that extra quid.

Rip and Roaring was a bit of a cock up, Rip is supposed to last a fair bit longer than Roaring, but on the night they fired at the same rate.

Nuclear Demolition is louder than Magical Palms, and the bursts were larger. But I agree, they should have gone for the palm effect, as opposed to the wave effect. Nevertheless, they were like shells.

The stock video of Real Steel does it no justice, it was louder and had bigger bursts than Hercules and Fire One, time for the old fogies to move over!

Exploding cherries was good, but its supposed to be a Brothers take on the FI Cheeky Cherries and wasn't particularly cherry flavoured either.

Interesting about the Rip & Roaring, I really dont see the point in pairing items that cant be fired in pairs?
  22. fishguy

Rip and Roaring are supposed to be like a small display, a slow paced cake with nice effects (Rip) and a fast paced finalé barrage (Roaring). They are also packaged to entice a retailer by packing them 1 of each (2) to a carton. For those who don't know, there are very few couriers who carry fireworks, those who do usually only carry whole cartons of 1.4G fireworks.

Regarding Exploding Cherries, I think there was another cock-up with the names. Exploding Cherries is similar to Starring, and Blazing Star is a 24 shot version of Cheeky Cherries.

Well I would like to see Rip & Roaring as I cant imagine how you can judge two fireworks when they are both set off at the ame time ? I would say the same for screeching sky rider but this did look excellent.

As for the comment earlier my PD about the Big Bang Theory ?? they set 3 x £25 cakes off at once = a £75 firework ? once agin unjudgeable ?

Anyway thats my moan :) well apart from I would still rather have 2 x Magical Palms than 1 x Nuclear Demolition.

    Thats it :)

    The Judge Guest

Well I'll video them separately for you on 23rd June! I've had BBT pack and try are decent. Good colours, more pretty than awe inspiring but certainly a real quality feel product.
