Here's the video of the display we did on Saturday 29th August 2015.

This was a £2,000 display consisting of appx 50% cat 3 and 50% cat 4, The very start was 4 x Renegade Mines followed by our experiment of a Diamond Princess with a Thunderking. The single Barbarian was to me better than 10 at once so its restored my faith in that firework, the Explosive Box 2 was as good as any cat 4 cake, you might note near to the end the 6 x Funky Spunky which was a bit of overkill, I think 3 with the outer 2 angled out would have been maybe better.

Thanks to Pyro Crazy and Top Gun Tony for coming and helping. And of course for Top Gun Tony (tgt) for driving me there and back too x

Lovely display. Loved the cat4 fan cakes at the very end.....

Even the 'pauses' were good. I assume they were planned, cause our pauses in our comp display are all planned......

    Very nice.
Going to have to get you guys to do my farewell display next March.

well done you lot. great drone footage at the beginning, and yes the six spunky funky's was a bit overkill, but it all worked out very well and i am sure the customer was really happy.

just get Harry to come and film whatever you needs filming. I think after watching that video we should offer the service of Drone filming, I am not sure how much you would charge for something like this ? you know the pre display and the display itself ? How much would you say ?

Depends on the budget? Up to £1000 could be £75
    £1000 - £2000 £50
    over £2000 = free

    Well another great display,
some great pyro again including cat 4 cakes,
Funky spunky is bit over kill with 6 but still impressive!

I was thinking £300 py :) I only came to that figure as a minimum a full days work filming and editing so I got £150 for labour, then I was thinking another £150 to cover equipment.

Well, perhaps if someone has £3k spare to throw at a display, then another £300 for a 15 min vid would be fine...I was thinking of the 'ordinary' punter :D

Its kind of irrelevant how much they spend on a display, Its the same thing we say if we do a display. We tend to charge £300 to do any display (£500 around BFN and NYE) no matter the size, so if someone wants to spend £600 that's £300 for pyro if they are spending £1,000 then £700 for pyro. The one we did here for the 50th Birthday obviously had £1,700 worth in it yet again leaving £300 to pay all the expenses etc. As much as I say £300 any professionals that are reading this will be in stitches laughing as £300 is pretty much impossible as lets say £150 Insurance, £250 wages, £75 travel expenses, £30 food, £50 equipment, that's £505 and doesn't even start to take into account advertising, promoting, website.................. well I could make a long list here. I suppose that's just business. Yes we then make money out of the actual fireworks themselves but what I can say and I have always said is that running a fireworks display company is dammed hard, I'm glad we are able to do a few displays without having to make a lively-hood out of it.

So back to the Drone :) £250 would be a bit of a bargain I think :)

    Fantastic display :)
love the explosive box 2 in that, stunning firework, and diamond princess & thunder king worked well together i think

as for the drone, nigel is probably right with £250, i'd say that's reasonable

Is that a cat4 cake at 13:34. It must be. But I had to check it wasn't Liquid Gold. It isn't, but it's the same idea case it's t... just bigger and better.
I've googled the powder weight of liquid gold and found a suggestion it's 720g. I'm not dissing it. I haven't fired one. But I did fire a copy (or original) 5 years ago when they were £35, and at £1/shot they were ok. But wouldn't it have been great to have a cake nearer the powder limit, and nearer the one in the video above, with either more volleys, more rotation of colours with the gold, or just bigger or more solid professional bursts at a real selling price of £69, forget the RRP. Because liquid gold is a nice idea, but people seem just slightly underwhelmed.

Brocade Knight Rob......The cake at 13:34 was indeed a CAT 4 cake, from memory it was a Brocade Blizt or something like that. It certainly wasn't a Liquid Gold...!!;)

It was an absolute pleasure to sit and watch the display from across the lake, the setting was excellent .

James did a super job firing the display and Harry great footage using the drone.

I also learnt quite a lot regarding quick match fusing after watching Nigel fuse all 15 x 4"inch Shells for the Finale...:)

My only criticism of the day is that Nigel offered Jason £200 to jump in the lake fully clothed....Jason let us all down by declining Nigel's Kind Offer, and decided to stay totally dry for the whole event ..........Hee Hee Hee. x x:):)

Hi Nigel, I think you have already posted the firing order somewhere but can't see it. I would be interested to know what was used, they pretty much all looked great - need to identify them!
